  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Apr 8, 2026, sent to the company Apr 13, 2026, published by CPSC May 4, 2026

The product, in the report: It is a small handheld sized Husky plushie with hard eyes/nose and a soft body. It has blue glittery ears and glittery blue teardrop shaped eyes.

I am reporting a serious safety hazard involving a childrens plush toy manufactured by Precious Moments Company, Inc.

My young child received this stuffed animal, which was purchased from a CVS retail store. The toy had not been modified, repaired, or altered in any way since purchase. I do not keep sewing materials accessible in my home, and I can confirm that this object did not come from our household.

On April 8th 2026, while picking up my childs stuffed animals, I grabbed this particular plush toy and was immediately pricked by a sharp object inside it. Upon closer inspection, I observed the dull end of a sewing needle protruding from the stitched mouth area of the toy. I carefully pulled the object out and discovered it was a full length metal sewing needle embedded inside the plush.

The needle was completely concealed within the toy except for the end that had begun to protrude. This presents a serious puncture and injury hazard, especially for young children. If my child had handled the toy instead of me, the outcome could have been much worse.

I have retained the toy and the needle and have photographic documentation of both the object and its location within the product.

This incident raises significant concerns about manufacturing quality control and product safety for childrens items.
