The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 3, 2026, sent to the company Aug 6, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 20, 2026

The product, in the report: Manufacturer: Aurora World, Inc., Pico Rivera, CA 90660, USA Product Type: Small stuffed animal / plush toy (black, white, and tan/brown coloring) Numbers found on tags: Reg. No. PA-19549 (ID) 221458 Mini Flopsie collection by Aurora Registration No.: QC-009537 Materials (per label): Polyester fibres, plastic pellets Retailer: Seaside Country Store, Fenwick Island, DE 19944 The retailer confirmed by phone that this item was purchased directly from Aurora World, Inc. through a sales representative at a trade show, not through a third-party distributor.

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, my 8-month-old daughter received this stuffed animal as a gift. Being an infant in the normal teething stage of development, she began mouthing and chewing on the toy immediately and continued to do so almost continuously over the following two days. On Monday, August 3, 2026, I discovered approximately twelve (12) sewing needles embedded inside the stuffing of the toy. Given the quantity, and that the needles were distributed throughout the stuffing rather than being a single stray item, this does not appear to be consistent with an isolated, accidental manufacturing defect. My daughter chewed on this toy extensively before the needles were discovered. She does not have any obvious puncture wounds or lacerations, but she has developed a rash on both cheeks, her nose, and her chin since receiving the toy, and has not yet been evaluated by a doctor. We are seeking medical evaluation out of an abundance of caution.

Made Nov 13, 2024, sent to the company Nov 15, 2024, published by CPSC Dec 2, 2024

The product, in the report: Ragged Ann Doll, approximately 25 inches long with red yarn hair

Red yarn hair from a Ragged Ann Doll because wrapped around a toddler’s neck nearly causing choking. Toddler was playing with the doll when a portion of the hair became detached from the head allowing a loop large enough to fit over toddler’s head to form. The loop was snug but not tight enough around throat & neck to obstruct airway but there was skin abrasions.

The product, in the report: Aurora Baby Pink Teddy Bear with Baby Girl printed on feet

Aurora Baby has a pink teddy bear with Baby Girl printed on the feet. There is no choking warning and their website says it is suitable for all ages. They are sold all hospital gift shops for newborns. My daughter was given this by a family member at birth. She is now 10 months old and teething, as such, she chews on everything. She was chewing on the face of this bear and was able to bite the eye off. Thankfully she did not choke but I want to stop this from happening to other children.
