The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Swim Ways Toypedo Original http://www.swimways.com/toypedo-original-p-52.aspx Model: Toypedo Original

I have noticed these Toypedos being thrown into swimming pools and striking people. They are very hard and travel at a high velocity. They are projectiles that do cause injury when misused. I know of one incident where a child (my daughter) received a bruise to her head because she was swimming and a kid threw it at her and it hit her in the head. The bump is still present one year and a half after impact. If it was an inch lower she would have lost her eye. I am concerned that they will cause eye injury because they come at you so fast and they are very heavy and hard. In my observation of these toys they have a high propensity to be misused by kids and they are indeed torpedoes that impact unsuspecting swimmers and do cause injury when misused.
