The product, in the report: Hoovy Light Up Single LED Bath Squirter - Assorted Animals Approx. 3 inches in diameter, green turtle Approx. 3 inches in diameter, blue whale Approx. 3 inches in diameter, gray seal
I purchased 3 Hoovy Light Up Single LED Bath Squirter toys from Target for my children. After several uses in the bathtub, I discovered that the button batteries inside the toy had corroded. The corrosion leaked into the bathwater.
The battery compartment does not appear to be waterproof or adequately sealed, despite this being a toy designed for bath time use. There were no clear warnings on the packaging or labeling about battery safety, corrosion risk, or potential water exposure.
This poses a serious child safety hazard, as corroded button batteries can leak harmful chemicals and pose an ingestion risk.
Target has only offered a refund for the toy and has not addressed the safety implications.
