What Happened: On Dec 18, 2021 about 1 am Central Time, The lights flickered and I heard a Buzz or Grunting sound. I turned off the main breaker to the house and went underneath the house. Our RUDD Ten Gallon Water Heater had leaked water from the Heater Probe, on to the Controller. The Controller had a short fire and broke the circuit. Then I disconnected the breaker and wires for the water heater. What type of Product: It was a 10 Gallon Electric 220 VAC water heater. RUDD Model XE10P06U20U0 and serial number Q361933328 manufactured September 2019 Who was using product: The product was idle. No one was using water at that minute. How was product being used: The water heater supplied only the bathroom shower. It was set about 95 or 100 degrees so no one could be scalded. No injuries occurred from the incident. I also have photos of the damage from 18 December 2021 available upon request.
