The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Mongoose Helmet (Matte Black Skateboard Helmet)
I purchased a Mongoose Helmet from Walmart (8924 Quil Ceda Blvd, Marysville WA) on June 30th, 2012.
Under bright light, I noticed cracks forming at three button locations that bind the helmet to the chin strap. There are five (5) cracks that measure approximately 1cm in length. Please see attached photographs.
This helmet was used five times within one month of purchase and was treated delicately!
I am appalled by the poor quality of this helmet. However, I am even more concerned about its capacity to be safe and of the integrity of other helmets in circulation. I question how a helmet of such poor quality passed general factory safety control and labelled CPSC with confidence!
