The product, in the report: 4WD Battery Powered 4.5MPH Electric Ride on Car for Kids, 2 Seater, with Remote
January 2026, an ELEMARA 24V 2-Seater Ride-On Car (a battery-powered electric ride-on toy car for children, purchased via Amazon) malfunctioned in a way that created a serious safety hazard. The product was being used normally by my 4-year-old daughter, who was riding in the car as intended. During use, the car began emitting smoke and making unusual noises. I immediately removed my daughter from the seat. Moments after she was out, the car accelerated on its own to full speed and could not be stopped: the on/off switch was unresponsive, the remote control did not work, and the only way I could stop the vehicle was by flipping it onto its back and manually disconnecting the motors one at a time. No injuries occurred, because my daughter had just been removed from the seat when the uncontrolled acceleration began. However, had she still been in the car at that moment, she could have been seriously injured the vehicle was moving at full speed with no functioning means to stop it, steer it, or shut it off. The combination of smoke/overheating (a fire risk from the 24V battery and motor system) and complete loss of control over a child-occupied vehicle represents a substantial hazard. My spouse captured video of the malfunction, which I can provide.
