The product, in the report: Quietside S-Line Condensing tank less water heater model number DPW-099A

We notice black smoke coming out of the outside pipe, there was a burnt smell in the room with the unit and the unit was running louder than normal. All of the monitor lights were on, but normally they just come on one at a time. By the time our local HVAC company arrived the carbon monoxide detectors were going off. They could see that the unit had been on fire and that the back of the unit was cracked. We were instructed to turn the unit off and that it would need to be replaced. After removing the unit from the wall there is a large black burnt spot on the wall and the back of the unit.
