  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 20, 2011, published by CPSC Aug 11, 2011

The product, in the report: Tailwind Kick Scooter. Non-motorized. Paid $15 from Menards.

I purchased a Tailwind scooter from Menards at Christmastime and not long after the kids started using it, the foot brake at the end of the scooter broke off--leaving a sharp metal edge exposed at the back of the scooter--VERY dangerous. I exchanged the scooter and the new one did the same thing. I am SHOCKED that this scooter hasn’t been recalled.

The product, in the report: blue with an aluminum platform wheels are about 4 inches in diameter has foam handlebar grips

We purchased a Tailwind kick scooter from Menard’s for about $15.00 for our 7 year old grandson. While he was visiting us the nut that holds the handlebars and rod to the platform came off, causing the handlebars to wobble and our grandson to fall. When I mentioned this to our daughter, because the nut was lost, she said this had happened several times since he received the scooter on April 15,2011. Each time her husband repaired it, but it kept coming apart.
