The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

The product, in the report: Tegu magnetic wooden blocks, classic 14 pieces

Upon opening a package of Tegu magnetic wooden blocks, I found that one block had split and wood had sheared away, exposing the magnet and leaving a sharp piece of wood sticking up. Two other blocks had visible bumps where the magnets were pressing up on the wood.

The product, in the report: Wood blocks with magnet embedded

We bought tegu product for our toddler. Bought brand new from official distributor about 7-8 months ago. We kept it in storeroom which is a dry and cool place for about 3 months and took it out for our toddler on her birthday. After another 3-4 months of playing with it, the wood started to break open, magnet inside start to rust and fall out. The magnet is a size smaller than Panadol. Could have been fatal if swallowed.

The chipped wood itself needn’t further elaboration on how fatal it could have been. I have taken pictures for reference if you could allow me to send them over.
