The product, in the report: Model CK-00073-Majestic, Barcode 618842398904. It is a childrens indoor play tent designed for young children to play inside.
What happened that made you want to report?I purchased the Minister Kids Tent (Model CK-00073-Majestic, Barcode 618842398904) about a month and a half ago, or possibly longer. Two days ago, while taking the tent down, one of the support poles broke. I decided to throw away the broken poles and keep the tent fabric. When I picked up the broken pole, I did not realize it had splintered into thousands of tiny fiberglass fibers. The fiberglass became embedded throughout my hands. What type of product(s) were being used?Childrens play tent (Minister Kids Tent), Model CK-00073-Majestic, Barcode 618842398904. Who was using the product(s)?I was handling the product as an adult while disassembling and cleaning it up after one of the poles broke. How were the product(s) being used? The tent had been used as intended. While taking it down, a support pole broke. I was removing the broken poles to dispose of them while keeping the tent fabric. Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product?Yes. Tiny fiberglass splinters became embedded in both of my hands. One of my fingers has since become infected where many of the fiberglass splinters entered my skin. The injury caused pain, irritation, and inflammation. How did any injuries occur? The injuries occurred when the broken fiberglass support pole splintered and released tiny fiberglass fibers. When I picked up the broken pole, the fibers penetrated my hands and became lodged in my skin, causing numerous splinters and leading to an infection in one finger
