The product, in the report: a white king Size, electric mattress pad warmer

On December 23, 2016 my wife arose from bed complaining of a burning sensation on her lower right shoulder and back.

In examination she had a small 3 x 6 burn area and blister.

On further examination we discovered that the electric mattress pad had a burn area in the same area where my wife had been sleeping. The sheet, bedding and the top of the actual mattress were also burned and charred.

The product, in the report: Soft Heat Electric Heated Warming Mattress Pad Dobby Stripe in White Size: Queen Model # LVPQ-4-2

I noticed a brown burn mark on mattress when I was changing the bedding. I use an electric heated mattress pad, so I unplugged the mattress pad and found that the wire which is normally encased was now exposed and burnt or melted. As a result, the mattress pad burned the mattress.

The product, in the report: Heated Mattress Pad: Soft Heat Micro-Plush Top Low-Voltage Electric Heated King Mattress Pad, White by SoftHeat Model # C-D11

POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD This heated mattress pad worked well for almost 3 years, but recently the pad just didn’t provide the same level of heat. I checked the wiring, and little device on the mattress pad where the wiring is plugged on was extremely hot to the touch, and one of the wires was turning brown. At least one other person has experienced the same problem, and posted about it on Amazon.

Soft Heat Micro-Plush Top Low-Voltage Electric Heated Queen Mattress Pad, White By: Perfect Fit, purchased from Amazon on October 13, 2013. (See http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZSHDEK/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1).

In March noticed badly charred wire leading into electrical connector. After contacting manufacturer by e-mail three weeks ago, I still have not been provided a refund or replacement.

I consider this product to be a fire hazard.
