The product, in the report: Propane Level Guage
We purchased a Propane Level Gauge by JLR Gear, connected it to our propane gas grill. Started the grill, went inside got the meat and returned to the grill. The grill was on fire and the knob melted. We really didn’t think about the gauge as the problem. We got out our old grill attached the tank and guage and within a few minutes it was on fire. Fortunately we put it out quickly before the grill was ruined.

The product, in the report: Propane level gas meter
[REDACTED] (sent to president of JLR Gear), As per our discussion of today, I have attached several photographs of the propane fire precipitated by the faulty propane meter that I acquired two weeks ago. As I indicated to you in our phone discussion, I was able to determine with a degree of ease that the smoker’s regulator was operating normally. However, the packaging on your device indicates that it has a backflow module built into the design. I highly suspect that module failed shortly after I hooked it up and began to preheat the Smoker on May 21st, 2011. The resulting uncontrolled release of propane superheated the smoker causing a small fire near the ignition source on the deck and at the base of my home. I was forced to quickly put the fire out. At that time, I also was able to determine that the meter read the propane tank as empty despite the fact that the propane was spewing an uncontrolled temperature fire from the smoker. I shut the valve off at the propane tank and quickly put the fire out. The next day, I inspected the propane tank and was able to determine it was still at or near FULL...thus indicating the propane meter was defective. I gingerly hooked up the propane tank to the smoker propane regulator and tested it to 200 deg for 1 hour and found that it was functional without your propane meter being connected. All of this obviously means your propane gage is defective and likely has a faulty back flow module.
