The product, in the report: 8” pool drain covers
I discovered that my pool drain covers had been recalled in 2011. I purchased the home earlier this year and only found out because a pool replastering company told. The former owner didn’t know because the original pool builder who built the pool in 2006 went out of business. After much confusion I finally figured out who the manufacturer was and contacted them. Initially they were cooperative and shipped me adapter rings to install underneath my existing drain covers. The rings were too big and when they then realized what actual model I have, they now claim I need to buy retrofit kits from them at a cost of $23/ea and I need 8 of them. I find this ridiculous considering the recall is for drains installed before 2008 and mine were installed in 2006. They say these drain covers I have were last made in 2006. This doesn’t make sense and I feel they should honor the recall and supply 8 retrofit drain covers at no cost to me.
