The product, in the report: Green plastic slide on playground
My 17 month old son sustained 2nd degree burns to his calf and fingertip from a neighborhood playground plastic slide. He was wearing shorts, tshirt, and sandals. The incident occurred on July 16, 2012 at about 1:30pm. He was under adult supervision at the time. When he touched the bottom of the slide, his skin instantly blistered. The adult present touched the slide with her hand before my son went down it and she did not feel that it was too hot for him to use. There were no warnings or signs posted on the playground that the equipment can get so hot as to cause burns. The neighborhood is Cinco Ranch in Katy,TX. Playground equipment should be made of heat resistant material or at least something that doesn’t heat to the point of causing burns.
