The product, in the report: BB Gun, a replica of a Sig Sauer 1911 Pistol
Purchased a BB Gun at Sports Authority. The model is a replica Sig Sauer GSR1911, S/N U03120761861. Distributed by Soft Air USA. The gun has a very dangerous design defect: it unexpectedly shoots when the safety is engaged after a misfire. This already caused to shoot my own foot. Luckyly my daughter was not using it at the time since it was my turn. It ofter misfires and the normal procedure in a misfire is to engage the safety before trying to resolve the problem. This action causes it to fire!. It is a design defect as it is replicable every time. I tried to return it to Sports Authority but they refused since I misplaced the receipt and threw away the clam shell packaging it came in. Then I called the distributor, Soft Air USA who refused to do anything about since I did not have “the receipt” and the rep quickly hung up the phone when told it caused injury. I have the gun in my possession available for inspection, we are unable to use it anymore, afraid it could cause more serious harm. I did not know who to contact to report this intil now when I accidentally found this link in the internet.
