The product, in the report: Turkish Walnut multi shot .25 cal. under lever air rifle

I purchased a Proxima .25 cal. air rifle from Hatsan USA online on the 24th of Dec. 2017. Sometime in May of 2018 my rifle misfired. This is an under lever type, multiple shot air rifle, to fire it, First you must cock the rifle by pulling back the under lever till it locks. At this time you will also hear a click (This is where the trigger is engaged I believe). This click was not heard this last time, (this was not normal) I was use to hearing a click at this time just after the lock engages. Furthermore when the lock was released the lever was still under pressure ( not normal) upon letting the lever return to its original position only after an inch or so the rifle went off ( not normal). Air was felt exiting from the magazine area when it misfired. I am sure of this due to the fact I was in a seated position with the rifle standing straight up in front of my torso lever facing forward thus placing the magazine area directly in front of my face. Thankfully I received no injury at this time, I honestly can not tell you if a pellet was fired through the barrel, partially into the barrel, or not at all. As soon as I noticed the lever was still under pressure I had no choice but to quickly grab the lever with my other hand and slowly try to release it before it was going to spring back smashing my fingers between the lever and the barrel Please note I see this as a safety problem and most definitely a warranty repair or replacement. Please also be advised I have received a rma # [REDACTED] from Hatsan; yet I have been unable to send it back because a pellet is in the breach and I can not remove it. I have tried on several occasions to contact them either by email or through a phone message. For over a month I have tried with no response. I have even tried to ask for technical assistance so that I can remove the barrel or the projectile either or so that this air rifle can be rendered harmless and safe to ship. This is also a safety issue because I need their technical instructions to safely ship it back to them but I am still waiting for them to return the phone messages or emails. Thank You for your time in looking over this matter. Please contact me with any further instructions concerning this matter. Thank You [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Hatsan Striker Air Rifle

My son was putting his air rifle away and it was broken down and as he closed the barrel, it misfired and shot a pellet. The pellet struck his brother in the chest and lodged in his bone resulting in a trip to the emergency room and follow up visits with a dr/surgeon to ensure no movement/infection to the injury. A police report was filed as required.
