Purchased from Airsplat.com a “BOLT BRSS SOPMOD CQB Airsoft Rifle Tan” at the end of September as a Christmas present. Also purchased a Ni-MH 9.6V battery for the airsoft gun. Upon opening the gun at Christmas and putting in the charged battery, the gun would not engage (gears turn) and became very hot at the handle area where held. It was so hot that you could not continue to hold the gun.
Bolt advised us to purchase a different battery, 11.1V 15C Li-Po battery, and this was charged, and then placed into the gun. This was tried on 1/30/16. The gun started to smoke and became very hot, burning slightly the hand when holding the gun. The malfunction of the gun is causing the batteries to overload and almost catch on fire.
The seller of the gun will not take the gun back nor refund the money since they say it is over their 60 day purchase time. I have explained that the gun becomes hot and was defective out of the box. I have also notified Bolt that the gun is defective out of the box.
