The product, in the report: youth Bear brand archery bow
Bear archery youth Scout bow purchased for grandchild to learn archery. Bow used minimally (about one week last season and about two hours this season) and was properly cared for. Child drew back to sight target and bow shattered just above center hand grip. Airborn pieces and string barely missed childs eyes and face. I have photos of broken bow as well as copies of correspondence with Bear customer service rep. There was a second adult present who witnessed the incident. I am concerned that these bows which are designed for young children may not be safe.
