First aid Made Jul 18, 2018, sent to the company Jul 26, 2018, published by CPSC Aug 9, 2018
The product, in the report: Rope device used to cock a crossbow. Came with the Bear Fortus Crossbow
Well using the rope cocking device included with my Bear Archery Fortus Crossbow, the plastic clips that starch to the bowstring to draw it back broke causing the plastic, metal, and rope to fly off at high speed. After the first one broke I contacted the company and they sent me a second, the same thing happened and I was injured the second time. The metal and plastic wheel struck my torso and cut my skin, resulting in soreness. Another part of the clip struck my finger, causing damage to the nail, bleeding, and soreness. A similar product has been recalled, it was included with the [REDACTED] and recalled in 2016. This product is extremely unsafe.
