The product, in the report: 18” recursive Bow and arrow kit. It came with the unassembled bow, 3 arrows and a arrow carrying case. As you can see from the product photo, attached and from the actual product the ‘limbs’ are not the same shape
I purchased a Bow and Arrow Kit the “Axis 18lb Bow” from SA Sports. The Bow came unassembled and the instructions were incomplete and incorrect. In addition the photo on the manufactures website and on the distributors website (amazon.com) did not match the actual product I purchased. If you assemble the bow and arrow as shown on the box/instructions the “limbs” are backwards and can cause injury to the user because the string upon release will hit your hand. In addition the grip is awkward and would appear to be left handed although the product in the web photo shows a right handed configuration. I contacted the manufacturer by phone and by email but it was Sunday so I tried flipping the limbs around and the grip felt correct and the bow was then right handed, however the string is loose and the arrow would not release when shot. I then contacted the manufacture by email again requesting a refund. The very next day, Monday, I received a prompt reply confirming the photo in the instructions was incorrect. I feel this device/instructions could cause harm, assembled as pictured in the instructions the users hand could become harmed by the string. In the other ‘limb’ configuration the arrow requires excessive force to extend the bow to get the arrow to release which could compromise the limbs and cause unexpected results in the limbs and the flight of the arrow, or the arrow will not release and will rebound into the user. Between the discrepancy in the product photo and instructions there is significant ambiguity and possibility for unmitigated error. Note the inflections in the ‘limbs’ in the product photo vs. the actual product. Also note there are two different illustrations in the instructions itself.
