The product, in the report: Playhouse (Plastic)

Caller stated that the playhouse for her 2 year old son became extremely hot while it was outside on a concrete pavement. She stated that there was not much sunlight to the playhouse. However, her 9 month old daughter opened the door to the playhouse and crawled in and screamed, caller discovered that the child’s right hand (palm) had received blisters from touching the playhouse floor. The child was taken to her physician where she was diagnosed of 2nd degree burns, the dead skin was removed and she was treated with antibiotics. Using a bath thermometer the caller measured the air temperature and then the temperature of the plastic floor of the playhouse. The air temperature was 77 degrees F and the floor of the playhouse 121 degrees F!

3/2015 Caller stated that she contacted the manufacturer and informed them of the incident. She was advised that someone would contact her about the matter. 5/2015 She contacted them through email to find out the status on the report. She stated that no one responded. 6/24/15 She contacted them again through email and still no one responded.

Caller stated that there is no warning label that the playhouse can overheat, she feels that this product is a safety hazard and should be investigated.
