The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made May 20, 2014, sent to the company May 29, 2014, published by CPSC Jun 12, 2014

The product, in the report: 14 ft OrBounder with protective Netting combo

In December 2013 we purchased a 14 ft round OrBounder trampoline with protective netting, it was a Christmas present for our 2 children Ages 12 & 10. We didn’t get to put the trampoline up util mid March because of bad weather, within 1 month springs started breaking off the frame. We set it up in a perfectly level spot, followed the directions and set it up exactly to the directions specs. Up to the date of my 12 yr olds accident 8 springs had broken off.

On Saturday May, 16th, 2014 my 12 yr old daughter was out jumping on her trampoline like she normally does everyday until a spring broke loose and EMBEDDED in her skull! She was knocked unconscious for a small about of time, then rushed to our local Urgent Care, where the Dr on call had her rushed to an Emergency Room, she ended up with a very deep cut (to the skull) 7 hours later and 8 stitches later. She now is terrified to go anywhere near her trampoline and asked us to get rid of it. This has left her very traumatized.

I have tried many times to get in touch with the manufacture with no luck. The company who makes OrBounder trampolines also make JumpKing trampolines. YJUSA.COM is the company.

  2. No one hurt

Made Nov 8, 2013, sent to the company Dec 9, 2013, published by CPSC Dec 23, 2013

The product, in the report: Trampoline

Caller reported that while her children was using the trampoline for a few seconds she noticed that the metal springs (about 5 of them) started to detach and flew off it. There were no injuries.

11/8/13 The manufacturer was contacted and she was advised that they could not control the weather and where it was kept.

She is concerned that this trampoline poses a safety hazard and should be reported.

The product is not involved in a recall.

  3. No one hurt

Made Mar 19, 2013, sent to the company Mar 27, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 10, 2013

The product, in the report: I believe it is a 15 trampoline with a black netting that goes from the pad up to the pools with a rod inserted inside netting that goes around the trampoline. The company is YJUSA Corp. and I believe the name is a ORBOUNDER trampoline. It was purchased at Wal-Mart in 2011 and was put up in May or April 2012.

Two boys were jumping on the trampoline. One boy had fallen into the netting while jumping and the net ripped. The other boy grabbed the fallen boy so he would not land on the ground. Trampoline has not been up for a year. This is the first winter it has been exposed to.
