The product, in the report: Rheem Performance Platinum Water Heater Model #XE60T12EC55U0

The control panel on our Rheem Performance Platinum Electric Water Heater (Model XE50T12EC55UO) caught fire at 5:00 a.m December 01, 2018. We had to turn off breaker to stop fire. Extensive damage to control panel, wiring and insulation of water heater. Called Rheem 1-866-369-4786 to report, but was unable to continue with call because I didn’t have serial number of product. I then called technical support and was given a case number [REDACTED] and was sent an email requesting copy of receipt for purchase from June 2015 as well as pictures of the damage and yellow energy label on water heater. I was also told to call back on Monday (December 03, 2018) to speak with a Support Specialist.
