The product, in the report: Water heater (Electric)
ECOMM notified MCFD of a smoke investigation at a residence. ECOMM advised the residence was smoke filled. Upon arrival, [REDACTED] established Command. No smoke or flame was showing upon arrival. Command met the homeowner in the rear of the residence. The homeowner advised that upon her arrival, she noticed that the residence was filled with smoke. Command entered the structure from the rear doorway and noted the smell of an electrical fire. The homeowner led Command to a utility closet located under the stairs, where a water heater was located, along with a more pronounced smell of adverse electrical activity. Command found that there appeared to be a burn mark on the water heater, and the breaker for the water heater was tripped in the electrical panel of the residence. Command noted no active fire in the water heater. Units used the TIC to search for any heat in the walls and found no heat. Command advised the homeowner to replace the water heater and to not turn it back on. Command terminated.
