The product, in the report: Quietside dual purpose gas water heater. Model DPW-199A

My home gas boiler unit and water heater was recalled. It is part of the safety recall by Quietside and Coaire. The unit was reported to be overheating and possibly causing fires. When I inspected mine I found that the unit was running too hot and the heat has degraded the seal on the exhaust system allowing the unit to release exhaust gas into the home. The risk of carbon monoxide poisoning from the exhaust was not mentioned in the recall.

The unit has been repair four times prior and has had five problems. One could not be fixed and had to be corrected by adding an external component. I believe the entire unit needs to be replace.
