The product, in the report: AO Smith Water Heater made by American Water Heaters 40 gallon gas fired

I bought an AO Smth water heater made by American Water Heaters and installed it. I am a professional in the field. The water heater was apparently contaminated and/or fosters the growth of harmful microbes. I talked to Lowes, the retailer, numerous times and took all the actions they and American Water Heaters recommended. Nothing worked to correct the defective water heater and it is making the people that use the water sick. Lowes and American Water Heater are washing their hands and saying we are stuck with the contaminated brand new water heater. This never happened in this location before. The water is being tested to see which microbe is present and how harmful it is. The manufacturer of the AO Smith Water Heater made by American Water, sold by Lowes, and Lowes are both refusing to exchange or replace the defective water heater, even though they were both notified of the problem within das of the purchase!
