The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Feb 8, 2025, sent to the company Feb 12, 2025, published by CPSC Feb 27, 2025

The product, in the report: Product is a American Standard 100 gallon commercial size water heater. Product number ULN 100-199-AS NG 100 GAL, 199K BTU ULTRA LO NOX. My serial number is L22-06502, mfg date early 2023, oddly no specific mfg date on the label. Color is white and gray. The burner assembly failed early Jan 2025. Blowing escaping gas and CO. Nearly caused a explosion in a 18 unit apartment building.

Burner assembly on a 100 gallon commercial water heater leaked natural gas and carbon monoxide.

UPDATED ON 3/10/2025: [Please be advised that my initial claim of a product issue was NOT the problem of the manufacturer. The problem was in fact with the gas supply through [REDACTED] Gas & Electric. The utility company service techs misdiagnosed the problem and said the issue was with American Standard Corporation. Leading me to file a complaint.

American Standard was super resourceful in sending a factory representative within 24 hours of their being notified by CPSC. I praise their help. The factory representative solved the problem within 15 minutes of arrival. [REDACTED] and my regular plumber were useless.]
