A residential structure fire that went to a flashover originated in the bedroom of a single-family home. The home was extensively damaged by fire and smoke. fire investigators determined that the point of origin of the fire was the replacement lithium-ion battery pack for a [REDACTED] portable vacuum. The vacuum was hanging on the wall of the room and the charger was plugged into the vacuum and the outlet at the time of the fire. The residents were awake and in another area of the house. They both escaped without any treatable injury. One resident complained of breathing issues from inhaling smoke or vapors. He was not transported by medics.

The Amazon product page for this item included a video and review showing this product was involved in a different fire than this one. We also found at least 6 other reports of this or similar Chinese-manufactured lithium-ion replacement batteries for this vacuum causing fires.
