  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 10, 2020, sent to the company Jan 5, 2021, published by CPSC Jan 21, 2021

The product, in the report: Electrolux Jetmaxx vacuum, model EL4040. Serial number EC121527000385. Purchased at Best Buy February 20, 2016. I copied what I think is the UPC off of the sticker on the vacuum. There isn’t any date code that I saw listed on the sticker.

My Electrolux vacuum cord has gone from not rewinding all the way to the very opposite. It now pulls tight, sometimes unexpectedly. This has caused quite a problem with the cord pulling out of the outlet and flying back at the vacuum, the vacuum being unexpectedly pulled back to the wall or just constantly pulled tight. I thought I recognized the issue with the cord rewind button getting caught under the frame, so I started to pay attention to make sure the button didn’t get caught. This helped relieve the problem, but surprisingly did not fix it. Now it just occurs less frequently. The company has done nothing to repair the problem and looking at [REDACTED] I am just one of many people with broken products and no response from the company. To answer your questions above: 1. It is a Jetmaxx Green EL4040 vacuum. 2. I was using the vacuum under normal household use. 3. It has not caused injury yet, but when the cord flew at the vacuum, it came very close to hitting me. This along with it being pulled so taught that it pulls the vacuum back to the wall makes me believe it is dangerous.
