The product, in the report: Vacuum Cleaner

We own a Filter Queen Vacuum and two Defenders systems, purchased in 2005. We paid thousands of dollars for these 3 items. The Filter Queen Vacuum has now started on fire in our home TWICE. Once after the initial purchase and we received a new hose, wand and cleaning head in 2008 and now again the other night November 16, 2011. We contacted the 800 # on the vacuum who directed us to a “company” 800#. The individual we spoke with who finally called us back on Friday, November 18 said that we were part of a recall and they’d send us all new parts AGAIN. I explained that it had this time burned my sons hand, ruined a 5’ X 7’ area rug and we no longer trusted ANY of these products in our home. We had trusted them twice now and this was no longer acceptable, not to send us the new parts, that we wanted to return these three products and get our money back. It is not fair to us that we would pay this much for their products, only to have them start on fire on us TWICE!!!! We asked about why we weren’t notified of any recalls?? I was originally told they had no idea and later told we must have thrown the notice away!. I then stated we must have been under TWO recalls OR they sent us faulty products the first time it caught on fire... they didn’t know. No one returned my call on Monday, however on Tuesday, November 22 when I got home from work there was a box with the new parts sitting outside my home. I called and left a message for [REDACTED] to please call me first thing this morning, Wednesday, November 23... [REDACTED] just finally called me at 1:14pm and said his supervisor told him to send the new products. I explained that I had told him NOT to send them as like I stated earlier, we no longer trusted Filter Queen or ANY of their products. I am now going to seek legal advice as this is an extremely upsetting and serious matter to us, but apparently NO BIG DEAL to this company. I’m explained that I was hopeful that someone within their organization would understand just how serious this is and respectfully refund our money for the vacuum, two defenders, our carpet and the trauma they’ve put my kids through. This has went on for weeks and they are discussing paying us for the vacuum only, however, it has now been over a week (since December 20, 2011) since we’ve heard anything from Filter Queen/Health Mor. We’ve called, emailed, etc., numerous times since this whole nightmare started and are really appalled at the lack of concern from Health Mor over their product starting on fire now twice in our home, our son was burned (albeit not major, but he was burned) we’ve never received a recall, etc.
