Hurt, care not known Made Aug 27, 2025, sent to the company Nov 24, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 21, 2025
The product, in the report: Craftsman Shop Vac vacuum cleaner Model Number. 125.12006 212013
Hello, I have a craftsman shop vac and I’ve only used it a dozen times since it was purchased for me for Father’s Day a few years ago. I used it the other day for about 15 straight minutes and it began to smoke and smell as if it was an electrical fire, it was extremely hot on the top of the motor is I unplugged it? I touched the motor part on the top burnt my hand
Contacted Lowe’s who sold the shop vac and they said I need to contact craftsman I contacted craftsman. They never replied to my complaint. This item is a fire hazard. If you go on the Lowe’s website, there’s other people that complain about this. I’m not looking for money. I’m not looking for compensation for my burnt hand. I need someone to take this seriously and notify the manufacturer of this vacuum that it is a fire hazard.
Thank you for your time [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Craftsman red and black shop vac. Model CMXEVBCPC1650. E26994. 52754-44. US Listed 684B.
I was using my Craftman Wet/Dry vacuum when sparks and smoke started to come from the motor area. I had to admittedly unplug it and remove the motor part to prevent the unit from totally catching on fire.
