The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Sally Hansen’s Extra Strength All-Over Body Wax Kit Container

I use body wax on a regular basis and recently decided to try out Sally Hansen’s Extra Strength All-Over Body Wax Kit. When heating the wax in the microwave, the container melted, ruining the microwave. The plastic container cannot withstand 1 minute of heating, despite instructions that the wax must be melted prior to use. It became a puddle of sticky goo in the bottom of the microwave. The wax is of a texture that never hardens and cannot be removed. Normally, wax can either be washed off with soap and water, or when it cools, it hardens to a texture that can be pulled off in one chunk. This wax is like a pot of soft bubble gum, essentially ruining everything it touched. There is no good way to use this wax and I hope that it will be removed from the market to save others from having the mess that I did. Floors, rugs, clothing, and microwave were ruined. And as a side note, it does NOT remove the hair as promised and it caused a horrible skin reaction where I used it. But that was no big deal compared to the destruction it did in my house.
