The product, in the report: Frozen beef shepherd’s pie
While heating a Marie Callender’s Beef Shepherd’s Pie in the microwave according to instructions the package caught fire. I have used the same product dozens of times previously without incident. The paper plate that the product was sitting on did not catch fire, so I concluded that the problem was the material the product container was made of. The microwave appeared to be functioning correctly and has continued to function properly since the incident.

The product, in the report: Microwavable Container for Marie Callenders Cheesy Chicken Lasagna
Last night a marie callenders cheesy chicken lasagna tried to burn our house down last night. We followed the directions on the box for microwaving the lasagna, cut the film cover and put it in the microwave for 12 minutes. Luckily about 4 minutes into it my husband happened to walk by and noticed that is was on fire in the microwave. We took it out and took the cover off as the plastic was also on fire (actual fire) and I took pictures of it. The side of the carton must have metal or something in it as it left a horrible burning smell in the house too. If my husband hadn’t walked by to do something else it could have set our kitchen or our house on fire. There is something definitely wrong here. Obviously we are very dissatisfied. The numbers on the box are as follows: 5014 324000 D2 10 17 P45
The UPS on the box his 2113159003, I have also written to the company.
Incident occurred at our winter home (address listed below, [REDACTED]) but there is no mail service at this address so if you need to contact us please do so via email or at our permanent address: [REDACTED]
