  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 17, 2013, sent to the company Dec 26, 2013, published by CPSC Jan 10, 2014

The product, in the report: Large Box containg a Memory Foam Mattress UPC 041498132965 sold by Aldi foods, and supplied to them by a company named Huntington Home (Soft-Tex). This is a extra firm memory foam queen sized mattress in a gigantic heavy box with wheels on it. I will try to send some pictures in the email.

On 11/2/13 we purchased a Memory Foam Mattress from Aldi’s (UPC# 041498132965). It was very heavy, and especially for us since we are seniors and both have back problems. But the product came in a huge rolling box like a rolling piece of luggage. A very good idea. But the quality contol was lacking, and the supplier/manufacturer/sell should have been more concsclentlous. Since it was so heavy and had wheels,we never picked it up and looked it over. And when we got to the car and tried to load it into the back seat, we had trouble getting it to go into the car, even though we knew we had enough space to fit it. But after trying for a few minutes, we had to pull it out, and that exposed two very thin sharp protruding screws with no protective caps what so ever at the bottom of the box. We feel very lucky that they didn’t cut or harm either us trying to pick this thing up and put it in our car. I am on [REDACTED] ,and if I had been cut by these sharp screws, I could have been severly injured,or even bleed to death before we could stop the bleeding. Luckily, only our car seat was damaged, and it is a [REDACTED] leather seat,so it will be very expensive torepair or replace. We contacted Aldi’s,and they handed us off to the manufacturer, and they handed us off to a customer service rep, a that personhanded us off to some insurance company, which we stillhaven’t heard anything from yet.
