The product, in the report: soft drink packaging of Strawberry Crush in 12 oz bottles

Shopping in Walmart, 15 yo dau. picked up 6 pack of Strawberry Crush in 12 oz glass bottles & carried to store front. Stepping toward checkout the handle failed, detaching completely as the remainder of the package containing the six glass bottles fell to the floor. Fortunately, in this instance, no glass broke and she was uninjured. I did not purchase the package of product with the failed handle as some of the lid seals had failed upon impact with the floor and the product had spilled. She went back and got another, supporting it from the bottom. We both inspected the second package and formed the opinion its handle was also inadequate to support the contents of the package. I am concerned for the safety of other shoppers, particularly children who are the target market for this beverage. Within hours of the incident I called the 1-800-570-6620 Customer Comment line appearing on the packaging. I identified myself to the representative with my name and contact information. She requested, from the package I actually purchased, the barcode number and the microprinted information from the bottle. They were 0 41710 13244 5 and L1325 DP2 17:40 respectively. Though she did not request it, the packaging manufacturer markings are: Graphic Packaging International, Die 5902Bd2c1 X085933 70 CNW. I later noticed: 09:29 07/15/11 #26 A. BROWN printed inside the bottom of the retained packaging. I hope this information helps to get this dangerous packaging off store shelves as soon as possible. [REDACTED]
