The product, in the report: Boardwalk Rush-On Nail Glue. Liquid cyanoacrylate adhesive packaged in a small white plastic bottle with a purple and white label and a white screw-on cap.
I am reporting a critical packaging design and manufacturing defect on Boardwalk Brush-On Nail Glue, item code IG02081, manufactured for Kiss Products, Inc., purchased at Walmart. The internal clear plastic nozzle restrictor/choke point failed completely because it was defectively fused inside the white screw-cap rather than the bottle neck. Because the safety choke point was completely missing from the bottle, the container was left wide open like a jar. A minor, common slip of the hand while unscrewing the cap caused the unchoked contents to suddenly and completely flood out into my lap. Had the safety nozzle been properly secured to the bottle as designed, a minor loss of grip would have only resulted in a few minor drops. Instead, the defect allowed a hazardous mass-spill. The mass-spilled cyanoacrylate reacted exothermically with my clothing, instantly creating smoke and melting the fabric into my shin. I required immediate evaluation at a hospital walk-in clinic on May 28, 2026, where a medical provider treated me for a burn injury and prescribed Silver Sulfadiazine Silvadene cream. The product packaging is legally inadequate. It only warns of ‘skin irritation’ and entirely fails to warn consumers of the severe exothermic flash-burn hazard when a mass-spill contacts fabric. I have preserved photos of the defective cap, the fabric tag, the burn, and the medical summary.
