The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Aug 19, 2016, sent to the company Aug 29, 2016, published by CPSC Sep 13, 2016

The product, in the report: Empty cardboard roll from Walgreen’s Nice! brand aluminum foil (25 foot roll).

This involves an empty cardboard tube from aluminum foil roll. It became stuck on tongue of my 8 year old daughter when she was playing with it. She apparently wanted to see if her tongue would fit inside of it.The cardboard tube was unusually thick it looks like, and sucked the moisture out of her tongue. She panicked and twisted it to remove it and it completely sliced open the underside of her tongue causing a lingual frenectomy, very bad and very deep (we have pictures). This resulted in a traumatic visit to the Emergency room and multiple stitches. Please, please, alert Walgreen’s and [REDACTED] and others to add a warning to their packages that the tubing’s inner circumference is sharp. I never would have thought this would happen from something like this but it happened. Please protect others and warn the consumers that this has been known to happen.
