The product, in the report: These are “Boardwalk” 100% recycled brown, paper hand-towels and “Boardwalk” brown/natural paper towels. “Boardwalk Multifold Paper Towels, Natural, 9 X 9 9/20, 250/Pack, 16 Packs/Carton - BWK6202” from Sustainable Supply, Boardwalk Multi fold Paper Towels Natural 9 x 9 9/20 250 Sheets per Pack, 16 Packs per Carton [REDACTED], Boardwalk® Multi-Fold Paper Towels, Brown, 4,000 Towels (BWK6202) SKU: BWK6202 from Cleanitsupply.com

I am a small business and have ordered brown paper towels for my bathrooms. I ordered the brand “boardwalk.” No matter what company I order this product from it arrives in a box that is not sealed. There is a 1 to 2 inch gap in the box. These paper towels, that people use to wipe their clean hands or maybe their’s or their children’s faces, are not sanitary. You can see that the boxes have filth on the bottom of them from sliding around warehouse and delivery truck floors. This filth easily travels from the space of the unsealed box flaps into the stacks of supposed “clean” paper towels. Mice, insects, dirt all can enter these boxes through the opening in the bottom and top. The towels inside the box are only bundled, not in any kind of sealed wrapping. After finding this situation from multiple suppliers and contacting the distributer directly I was told by the distributor that they receive them from Canada and can’t remedy the situation. People using these towels in businesses, and maybe public schools, are all being exposed to non-sanitary paper towels. People expect that these towels are clean. I have pictures of multiple boxes from multiple suppliers. I can supply these, I began having conversations with suppliers back in April of this year. Below, I will supply the date of the interaction with the “boardwalk” distributer “Essendant.” The staff member I spoke with is: [REDACTED]
