The product, in the report: CLR Calcium Lime and Rust Remover. 128 oz jug. The jug is rectangular with a handle that is part of the jug on top. The UPC is 78291 21083. It appears the parent company is jelmar. Model CLR

I tilted a jug of CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover on its side for a couple of minutes while it was laying on the floor. Product poured out all over the bathroom floor. I was not injured, but had to throw away books and magazines that were on the floor. I also got the product on my hands, but rinsed them thoroughly as directed on the package. The warning on the product states that if in contact with eyes or skin, to flush them for 15 minutes. I contacted CLR and they said their caps don’t seal completely and that product can seep out of the caps. After hearing that answer, I tested the bottle over the bathtub. With the cap on, product flows from the bottle as if there were no cap at all. There’s no seeping about it. For a corrosive product that carries such a warning, they need a better sealing cap to ensure product safety. Alternatively, my cheap generic bleach does not spill one drop from its cap when I turn it on its side. CLR agreed to send me a coupon for more product, but they never mentioned implementing better caps.
