  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 16, 2025, sent to the company Jul 21, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 4, 2025

The product, in the report: This is a W&P 24 ounce round food storage bowl made of glass with a silicone housing on the lid and body, and a silicone seal in the lid. It was blush pink, purchased in September of 2023, from the W&P store on Amazon.com. It is the Porter model.

I stored canned mandarin oranges in a 24 oz W&P Porter food storage jar about 10 days ago. When I went to use them about 7 days ago, the lid was stuck and I couldnt open it. My spouse and I tried opening it for several days, storing it in the fridge between attempts. As I was getting ready to make dinner tonight, July 16, I took it out so it would come to room temp, with the intent of taking it down to my garage to put it in my vise and use a clamp for leverage to get it open. However, while it was sitting on my counter, it exploded. The silicone contained most of the glass but it did explode and may have become stuck BECAUSE of the fruit fermenting, creating pressure on the lid and the threads.
