The product, in the report: It’s a Threshold $6 glass jar that’s 0.5 Gal. It didn’t have a seal, and it’s for food storage.
We purchased a Threshold Brand food storage glass jar and stored strawberries in it. We’ve only been using it for about a week and have been gentle with it. Well, the product doesn’t have a seal. I didn’t think too much of it. My girlfriend opened the jar, and ate a few strawberries. Then she felt a sharp pain in her finger. Turns out the glass is shaving off into the food. It doesn’t take a lot of force for the jar to do this. I’m thankful she didn’t ingest any of the small shards, but honestly I’m worried that someone else may have bought these jars and used them for food. What happens if they ingest the fragile glass shavings that these jars seem to produce. I don’t think I’m the only one who’s had this issue because there are reviews on the Target website that also complain about these shavings.
