  1. First aid

Made May 2, 2017, sent to the company May 10, 2017, published by CPSC May 24, 2017

The product, in the report: Gillette Series Shave Cream, 8.4 ox bottle UPC: 47400 13450 Green Cap; +20% bonus size

I was shaving on 1 May 2017 at 0530 and went to use a new container of Gillette Series 3X action shave cream (UPC Code 4740013450). The product, held about two feet to my left and facing slightly downward into my palm, erupted violently from the container under high pressure and struck me in the right eye, as well as several places throughout the bathroom. I immediately placed my face under cold running water and screamed for my wife, who brought an eye wash kit and assisted me in cleaning the eye. For the first twenty-minutes, it was the most intense pain I’ve ever experienced...too intense to stop rinsing and go to the Emergency Room. My wife assisted me and we continued washing the eye until the pain subsided. I have a minor chemical burn to the surface of the eye, which remained red and in moderate pain for approximately four hours. Twenty-eight hours later, I have mild pain but some periodic involuntary twitching.

This product should be recalled immediately.

After purchase, it was stored in my pantry under room temperature conditions. The product was not dropped or misused by me or my wife.
