No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 19, 2022, sent to the company Aug 3, 2022, published by CPSC Aug 17, 2022
The product, in the report: SIGG Aluminium Outdoor Water Drinking Bottle $30, Color print on outside. I have 3 bottles but sofar only one is having the defect, due to the problem I will no longer use the others either.
While outdoors my wife and I drank from my Sigg brand water, which seems to have a plastic liner or coating, when I noticed a thumb-nail sized piece of thin plastic in my mouth. First I thought that it might have been a build-up, even though we do clean it regularly. After we got home I further inspected the bottle and realized that the factory applied coating had started to disintegrate and could cause a choking hazard. I e-mailed the company multiple times (May 22 and May 27) and received no reply whatsoever in over a months’ time. I spoke with a USA distributor and was re-directed to the manufacturer’s site.
