The product, in the report: Arrowhead sport top water bottle 700ml
My 4 year old daughter was drinking from the arrowhead sport top water bottle and chewing on the spout when the inner ring popped out and went down her throat. The inner ring also has a y shape of plastic on the inside. I immediately called the pediatrician and they connected me to a nurse who told me not to panic that it will probably pass. If she complains about stomach cramps to bring her in. That was 2 days ago and so far nothing, but it could happen to another child where it does get loged in the throat or causes a block of the digestive system. Thank G-d my daughter was a lucky one.
It also looks like the part that popped out is not really necessary for the function of the sport top. Although there is a warning on the bottle stating: “Flip-cap cover contains small parts and poses a choking hazard for young children,” it was not the Flip-cap or any part of it that broke off. It was the bottle spout itself.
