  1. First aid

Made Feb 3, 2026, sent to the company Feb 6, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 23, 2026

The product, in the report: Fresh strawberries sold in a clear rigid plastic clamshell container. Brand: Naturipe Farmed Fresh. Net weight 16 oz (1 lb). The plastic clamshell container cracked along the edge, creating a sharp jagged plastic surface that caused a hand laceration during normal opening.

I purchased a package of fresh strawberries sold in a clear plastic clamshell container. When I attempted to open the container in a normal and intended manner, my hand came into contact with a cracked and jagged edge of the plastic packaging.

The broken plastic edge was extremely sharp and caused a deep laceration to my hand. The injury occurred immediately upon handling the packaging and was not due to misuse or excessive force.

Photos of the injury and the defective packaging are available. This packaging presents a serious cut hazard and could easily cause injuries to other consumers, including children.
