The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Marie Callender’s Large Size Turkey Pot Pie

I microwaved a Marie Callender’s Large Size Turkey Pot Pie, and it caught fire. The directions said to microwave it for 8.5-10 minutes, so I set it at 9 minutes. When I came back, smoke was coming out of the microwave, and the food and its container were burnt and scorched. I was not injured. UPC 0 21131 50692 6, Use By May 01 2025. I have already reported this incident to Conagra, with photos, but these pot pies are a dangerous fire hazard, with their metal foil browning surfaces which can overheat to the point of fire.

The product, in the report: Marie Callenders Bowl series. In my case the Sesame Chicken and Roasted Garlic Chicken

The Marie Callenders Bowl series of microwavable food has a very unstable bowl construction that basically collapses when removed from the microwave. When griped by the edges it folds in half. In my case I was burned by the steam and dropped the hot food container on the floor. This is very dangerous and was reported to the manufacturer on 8/20/2020.
