The product, in the report: plastic containers used to cook eggs

The consumer placed egg whites inside of the plastic container and secured the plastic lid on tight. The consumer placed the container inside of room temperature water inside a pot on the range (electric range).

The range was placed on a medium setting. Approximately 5 minutes later when the water came to a boil the lid expanded and exploded off flying across the kitchen.

The consumer states that when the lid detached from the container it caused the boiling water to overflow and spill out.

The firm was contacted and he left a message. The consumer states that he received a voice message from the firm. When he returned the call there was no answer so he left a voicemail message.

The consumer has discontinued the use of the product because it could possibly pose as a burn hazard.
