The product, in the report: 5% Minoxidil Topical Solution Roll-On Hair Growth Serum for Men, 30 mL (1.01 fl oz). The product is packaged in a shiny metallic blue cardboard box. Inside is a white cylindrical bottle with a metal roller ball applicator and an ordinary white plastic twist/pull cap that lacks any child-resistant safety lock. Amazon ASIN: B0GGZSNL59.
I purchased this 5% Minoxidil roll-on solution on Amazon. After putting the cap back on, I left the bottle on my counter. My 3.5-year-old child found the bottle and removed the cap in just two seconds because the bottle does not have any child-resistant lock or “push-and-turn” mechanism.
I entered the room right when my child was holding the open bottle and getting ready to roll the liquid on the arm. Luckily, I stopped my child in time before any contact happened. It was a terrifying near-miss incident. Minoxidil is a hazardous OTC chemical, and selling it in a bottle that any toddler can open poses an extreme poisoning hazard to children across the country.
