    The product, in the report: 1 gallon and 2 gallon gas containers 1- gal, 4oz serial numbers: 012611221 030509130 2-gal. 8oz serial numbers: 030811091 030811101 083010061

Caller purchased 2 one gallon and 3 two gallon plastic gas containers approximately 8 months ago, filled them with gas and then placed them in his garage.

He used them as he worked various projects during the year then filled them again around the end of May or beginning of June 2012.

He didn’t go to his garage again until this morning, June 19th, 2012.

He entered the garage and began working on his tractor, then walked around it and noticed the gas cans were all mishapened with one of the one gallon cans being totally round and then the other four being in various stages of deformity.

He contacted the EPA, was advised by rep (he doesn’t remember name) that the gas cans are manufactured to react this way so that fumes are not leaking.

He was advised to leave them in this shape, however he loosened the spouts from fear of combustion.

Caller would request that there be some sort of relief added to the schematics of this can when manufactured to relieve pressure.
